No fee waiver, but cricket club to get sponsorship from Thorold

Niagara This Week - The City of Thorold won’t waive a planning application fee for the Niagara Cricket Club, but it will provide a sponsorship equal to the amount of the fee. Back in 2014, the city granted approval for Recreational Zoning and approved se of the property on Thorold Townline Road for the cricket pitch and DMZ Paintball facility.

Niagara Elites beat Halton Warriors in the final to win District Cricket League

The Niagara Elites downed the Halton Warriors to win the Hamilton & District League Cricket league title at the Niagara Cricket Center on Sunday. The Elites, a young a group led by players in ther 20s and 30s, defeated the more experienced and battle-tested Halton team using a balanced batting lineup backed by superb bowling.

NIAGARA FALLS - It’s a crisp fall afternoon in rural Niagara Falls and the sounds of paintball guns firing are interspersed with shouts of excitement and the crack of cricket bats smacking balls.
While paintballers look to splatter their foes, the Niagara Cricket Club is battling the Halton Cricket Club for the Hamilton and District Cricket League’s Premier Division title on a grassy expanse that only a few years ago was a weed-choked field.

“It’s pretty cool,” said Nick Lashford, the Niagara Cricket Club’s executive director. “It’s definitely the best ground in our league.”

ST. CATHARINES - The Halton Cricket Club captured the Halton and District Cricket League’s Premier Division championship with an exciting victory over the Niagara Cricket Club Sunday at the Niagara Cricket Centre.

Niagara’s win over Burlington CC on Sunday to earn a shot at the Premiere Div. Championship

Niagara Cricket Club’s premiere teams posted a decisive win over Burlington City Cricket Club last Sunday at the Niagara Cricket Center. Niagara won the knockout playoff game by 89 runs.
Burlington CC, winning the toss made a decision to field first. In reply, Niagara Premiere team opened their batting with Fiazan Siddiqui and Zia Sarwar.

Niagara Cricket Club Premiere team, being the top seeded in the District League has now qualified to move into semi-final playoff knock out match to be held this Sunday Sept 15th at local home cricket grounds at NCC – Niagara Cricket Center, 5114 Thorold Town Line Road. The knock out match will be held between Niagara Cricket Club and Burlington City premiere team.

Burlington City team, after winning in the quarterfinals over Oakville City will now travel to play Niagara CC at the Niagara Cricket Center. The match will start at noon.
